Something To Celebrate: Mini Golf, Tacos, and the Ordinary Kind of Love

This week we took my mother-in-law out for her birthday — mini golf and tacos, which honestly might be the perfect combination. There was a little friendly competition on the course, a lot of laughing, and probably more guacamole than was strictly necessary. It was one of those evenings that didn't require much planning to feel really good.
I've been thinking about how the best family memories rarely come from the elaborate ones. Nobody was performing or trying to make it special — it just was, because the people were there and nobody was in a hurry to leave. That's worth noticing. Worth writing down, even. The ordinary Tuesday-night version of love is still love, and it deserves to be counted.
Whenever something like this happens, my instinct is always the same — find a little something to mark it.
