Something To Celebrate: A Beautiful Day at Homecoming

We went to homecoming and our team lost, but honestly? That's not the part that's stayed with me. What I keep coming back to is how good it felt to just be there — sidelines, family beside me, that particular kind of October light that makes everything look a little softer than it actually is.
There's something I've noticed over the years about the moments that actually stick. It's almost never the outcome. The win or the loss kind of fades, but the feeling of everyone being together in the same place, paying attention to the same thing — that doesn't. A beautiful day with the people you love is its own kind of result, and I think it counts.
Whenever something like this happens, my instinct is always the same — find a little something to mark it.
