Something To Celebrate: Fixing the Thing That Was Bothering You

Fixing the Thing That Was Bothering You

Tonight I sat down and redesigned a graphic template for my shop's blog posts — not because it was on a list, not because someone asked me to, but because the old one had been quietly bothering me long enough that I finally just fixed it myself. That's it. That's the whole story.

I've been thinking about how much we undercount the small acts of care we give to our own work. There's no deadline attached to noticing that something is off and deciding it deserves better. Nobody's grading it. But I think those moments — the ones where you quietly raise your own standard just because you can — say something real about how you feel about what you're building. That's worth noticing. That's something to celebrate.

Whenever something like this happens, my instinct is always the same — find a little something to mark it.
