Happy World Sea Turtle Day! Did you know June 16th is dedicated to these magnificent marine reptiles, chosen to honor the birthday of Archie Carr, a true pioneer in sea turtle conservation? It’s a lovely little fact that gives us a gentle reason to pause.
Sea turtles, truly. They’re these ancient, unhurried beings, just doing their sea turtle thing, navigating vast oceans with a quiet, persistent grace. They spend most of their lives underwater, out of sight, which, if we're being honest, sounds like a delightful Tuesday for some of us introverts. No fuss, just purposeful swimming in their own aquatic lane.
It’s a nice reminder that there's always something to celebrate, even if it’s just the quiet resilience of a creature that’s been around for millions of years. Or the quiet resilience of getting through your own personal ocean of tasks today. Big things, small things, ancient things, or just the very fact that you’re here, reading this, perhaps with a cup of tea nearby.
So today, let’s take a cue from our slow-and-steady aquatic elders. Take a moment. Breathe. And perhaps, just perhaps, quietly celebrate the existence of something ancient and beautiful. Or just enjoy the silence. Your pace is the right pace.
