Something To Celebrate: International Day of Yoga

Happy International Day of Yoga! Did you know this global celebration, observed today, June 21st, was first established by the UN back in 2014? A relatively recent addition to the international calendar, but a very welcome one.
Now, before you picture me contorting into a perfect lotus or balancing on one pinky finger, let's be real. My 'yoga' often looks more like a very determined stretch for that crick in my neck from too much screen time, or a deep sigh of relief after finally getting the cat to move off my keyboard. It's less about gravity-defying feats and more about finding a tiny pocket of calm in the glorious chaos of daily life. For us quiet types, it's that internal reset button.
It's a wonderful reminder that there's always something to celebrate. Even if your 'yoga' is just a conscious breath before tackling the overflowing laundry, or the quiet joy of a warm mug in your hands, it counts as finding your center.
So whether you're saluting the sun, or just giving a grateful nod to your comfy couch (which, let's be honest, can be its own kind of restorative pose), I hope you find a little moment of peace today. Happy International Day of Yoga, however you choose to celebrate it (or simply acknowledge it).
