Something To Celebrate: May Day

May Day

Happy May Day! Did you know this sunny little holiday is one of the oldest celebrations around? It's traditionally a festival marking the peak of spring, a time when the world collectively decided to throw off its winter blankets and declare, "Alright, let's get some flowers going!"

For those of us who prefer our celebrations slightly less... maypole-adjacent (my social battery runs out just thinking about coordinating ribbons), May Day still holds a quiet charm. It's the day you might notice the first truly vibrant bloom in a forgotten corner, or realize you haven't shivered fetching the mail in a week. It’s that subtle shift from 'brisk' to 'breezy,' a gentle invitation to open a window and just... be.

And really, isn't that the essence of it? Whether you're a seasoned floral-fĂȘte enthusiast or, like me, you consider a successful houseplant not dying a triumph, there's always something to celebrate. Small wins, tiny beauties, the simple fact that the days are longer and the tea tastes just as good outside as it does in.

So, on this first day of May, do something wonderfully un-May Day-ish if that's your style. Or do something perfectly May Day-ish. Grab a delicious beverage, find a patch of sunshine (or a cozy nook), and simply appreciate the gentle hum of the world waking up. Happy May Day, friends.
