Happy March 20th, everyone! Did you know that today isn’t just a regular day? It’s actually the International Day of Happiness, established by the UN. No pressure to spontaneously erupt into a confetti parade, of course.

Now, for some of us (and you know who you are), the word 'happiness' might conjure images of grand gestures and effervescent smiles. But for many of us, especially those who recharge in quieter corners, genuine joy often looks a lot like a quiet morning, a successful solo mission to the grocery store maintaining optimal social distance, or finding both socks in the laundry. It's less about bubbly exuberance, more about a gentle, warm hum.

It’s easy to think happiness has to be this grand, sparkly, Instagram-perfect event. But often, it's just the quiet satisfaction of a task well done, the blissful silence of a pet curled up beside you, or the sheer relief of cancelling a plan you secretly dreaded. Even on days that feel less-than-joyful, there's usually a tiny sliver of something good, something comforting, something... you.

So, on this International Day of Happiness, there’s no pressure to be outwardly ecstatic. Just take a moment. Sip your drink a little slower, appreciate that quiet hum, or simply enjoy the fact that you made it through another paragraph of internet reading. However happiness manifests for you today – be it a quiet read, a perfectly timed snack, or the blissful realization that you don't have to wear 'real' pants – let yourself lean into it. Happy International Day of your Happiness!
